Fellow Ballers, another year has come and gone. Sadly it ended a little sooner than hoped, but it was a fascinating season with many positives.

Now is the time for us to review our 2015 season prognostications and crown a new Steel Balls Trophy champion. It was a tough competition with over 50% of participants correctly predicting the Steelers’ regular season win total. This meant we had to dig deep into the complex and secretly guarded tie-breaking procedures in order to determine a winner beyond dispute.

It meant more to JPJ to be (one of) the highest paid at his position than being a Steeler and that was his choice. He may have accomplished both, whether it was in '26 or '27, but he had to have that long term (highly guaranteed contract) right now.

Maybe JPJ goes on to have a great career, maybe he becomes another also ran. Either way the Steelers, particularly Rooney and Khan, thought that the juice wasn't worth the squeeze. It was his behavior and attitude that cost him a long term job in Pittsburgh. If he had just kept his head down and worked hard it would be a different story. That is what the three guys still on rookie contracts who ended up with extensions did. And everyone of those guys will finish out his next contract with the Steelers, even if injured.
